Studio Etiquette & Policies

Illness

If you are (or have been) feeling ill in anyway (fever, cough, sniffles, etc.), please reschedule your appointment. Given the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, anyone who is ill during a service will be asked to leave and come back once they are feeling better (possibly up to two weeks later and will be subject to the appropriate cancellation fee.) Please reschedule your appointment if you have recently tested positive for Covid. If I am ill, I will give notice with as much time as possible. Please be considerate as this is for the best interest of not only you, but myself and other guests as well.

Early or Late Arrival

  • When you arrive for your appointment, please text me at (253)260-5031 and let me know! If you are early, there is a small lobby just outside my studio on the second floor that you are welcome to wait in until I am ready for you. Please feel free to use the shared restroom as well. Appointments after 5 or on Saturday: the door is locked, but rest assured I will be down to let you in!

  • If you are running late, please let me know ASAP by sending me a text at (253)260-5031. Running late happens to everyone, and sometimes cannot be avoided. Depending on what service you are booked for, if you are more than 15 minutes late (or more than 5 for brows and lash lifts!) we may need to reschedule you since appointments are limited to time booked and my schedule is arranged accordingly.

Fill services may continue with the reminder of the time scheduled, at my discretion. Please note that the last minute cancellation policy (see below) does apply to reschedules due to tardiness. I value our time together, so I kindly ask the same in return. Thank You!

Extra Guests

Due to space limitations in my studio, no extra guests (children and spouses included!) are permitted.

Shoes

Shoes are preferred to be taken off to help make it easier for you to relax, snuggle up with a blanket & be comfy. I have a chair by the door, where you are welcome to sit and remove your shoes. Clean & fuzzy socks are available if you aren't wearing any and want your toes to be extra warm and cozy.
I suggest you wear slippers or slides or something easy on/easy off, just for the sake of your own convenience.

Fills

  • Everyones lash needs are different, and some guests may need to come for a fill sooner (and some may be able to come later) than others due to lash growth, lifestyle, and aftercare routine. For best results Fills should occur no more than 14-21 days after your prior Fill, anytime after that may result in excess shedding or grow out of current lashes. If you need extra time due to excessive shedding, please select the Extended Fill option so we will have adequate time to perform maintenance on overgrown lashes and fill in back to 100%. If it has been over 14-21 days when you come for your fill, and do not add extra time, understand that removing overgrown lashes and then adding on new lashes takes time, and you may not be to your fullest potential and your custom lash style will be affected.

  • Mini Fills: If it has been 10 days or less since your last fill and want a touch up for an event, trip or pictures, you are welcome to book a Mini Fill. Mini Fills should not be booked more than 10 days past your last fill and should not be booked continuously. They are considered a “touch-up” and not to be utilized as a Fill replacement. Less maintenance is performed during Minis (many times none at all) so continuous bookings can damage lash follicles due to grow out becoming too top heavy, and can also alter your lash style and fullness significantly.

  • Extensions should always look good, just less full. We may need to adjust your fill schedule, lash style or aftercare routine if they continually look rough.

  • If you have been to another lash artist since the last time we saw each other, please see the “New Guest Fills” section below.

I recommend booking at least 3-4 appointments out, as I tend to get rather booked out. This will help you stay on your regular schedule and get your preferred time. I do have a 6 month limit on future bookings, so please don’t be alarmed if you see no availability over 6 months out.

Clean Lashes

Please come to your Full Set eye-makeup free (that means no mascara, concealer/foundation or eye-shadow) and to your fills with freshly cleansed (and makeup free) eyes and lashes. This allows for maximum lash time, and less time spent cleaning your lash line to be ready for new extensions to be applied. I retail gentle foaming lash cleansers that I use during services, and will have to spend extra time cleansing your lashes (this means less time applying lashes) if you come with dirty lashes. Full service price will apply regardless of actual time spent lashing.

Lash extensions will not adhere to dirty lashes!

Getting your lashes done takes a lot of time and energy out of your daily routine, but they are low-maintenance, not no-maintenance and require daily cleansing. Failure to clean your lashes can result in excess lash mites (you’ve seen that article floating around I’m sure) blepharitis, increased chance of an allergic reaction, loss of natural lashes due to build up suffocating your lash line and decreased retention.

Clean lashes are happy lashes, and happy lashes last.

Do NOT use mascara. Mascara sucks. Don’t do it. Try using a liquid eyeliner thinly on your lash line instead!

Aftercare

  • Cleanse thoroughly daily with an approved lash cleanser. (It does not have to be one from my studio, however not all lash cleansers perform the same.) If you have oily hair and skin, workout, swim or wear eye makeup, you may need to cleanse twice daily. Eyes and extensions are delicate, but not so delicate that you cannot give them a good deep clean.

  • If you don’t wear makeup, you still need to cleanse daily, as dead skin or environmental debris can build up and suffocate the lash line. This can result in loss of natural lash growth, blepharitis, lash mites, and decreased retention.

  • Pat dry with a lint free towel, and brush when dry to help maintain their fluffy appearance.

  • Do not rub, tug or pull on the extensions. You may accidentally pull out your natural lash.

  • Avoid oils directly on or around your eyes as oils can break down the adhesive resulting in premature shedding.

  • Do not wear mascara, it can be impossible to fully remove. If you feel the need to darken up your lashes with mascara, maybe we should book you in for a different (fuller) fill, adjust your aftercare habits or schedule fills closer together. Eyeliner is a good way to help darken the lash line and is easily removable. Use only liquid or marker type eyeliners.

  • If you are a side sleeper, try to avoid sleeping directly on the lash extensions, and sleep with your eyes off the edge of the pillow.

  • If you have a sweat inducing workout, swim, cry or wear eye makeup, be sure to cleanse them directly afterwards.

Following the recommended aftercare is essential to maintaining beautiful and healthy lashes. Lash integrity is my highest priority, but I can only control what happens while you are in the studio. Failure to follow aftercare can result in damaged lashes, and inability to get lashes all together.

Keeping your extensions squeaky clean is of utmost importance, both to the lashes appearance and to the health of your eyes and lash line.

New Guest Fills

New Guests with existing lash extensions are welcome as time permits. Please book a “New Guest Fill” as extra time is needed to perform a thorough consultation, ensure quality of existing set and a full, cohesive look at the end of the service! New Guests who do not book as such, may be contacted (if time permits) and informed of price/time difference. If unable to contact, service will continue with understanding that I may not be able to provide the ideal end result (if quality of lashes permits). The “New Guest Fill” price will be charged regardless of if it is booked as such, so you might as well get that extra time. If lashes are unable to be filled completely, you are able to schedule a mini fill (at a later date and time, depending on schedule) to gain that extra time. Depending on quality, some existing sets will need to be removed before any lash application occurs. Valid debit/credit card required to be held on file in order to book new guest appointments.

*Current Guests who have been to another lash artist since the last appointment at Lash Nirvana: Since you are coming in with lashes from elsewhere, and quality cannot be guaranteed for any “outside” lashes, the “New Guest” charge and quality disclaimer apply to you as well, so I recommend booking as a “New Guest Fill” to gain that extra time.

Thank you for understanding. If you have questions or concerns please reach out!

Cancellations & No Shows

  • As a courtesy, appointment reminders are sent out 48-24 hours in advance, by email and text. I ask that you please give at least 24 hours notice for cancellations, or $40 will be charged to the card on file. Full Sets and New Guest Fills require 48 hours notice. Please reschedule if you are sick, while giving as much notice as possible (see Illness policy above). Reschedules are limited to current availability or limited “Off Hours” times. Cancellation fee is $40, (or 100% of service charge for Mini Fills, brow wax, lash lift and tint services.)

  • No shows will be charged the full service price via card on file or Invoice. Balance must be paid prior to rebooking. Multiple no shows will result in denial of services booked or performed.

This is to protect your time that is set aside especially for you, as well as to protect my time which books up quickly. In turn, I promise to keep appointments on time, give you my full and undivided attention and of course, the best lash extensions Gig Harbor has to offer!

Payments

Payment is due at time of service. Valid card must be kept on file for all appointments (see Cancellation/No Show policies). This card will not be charged unless you choose to pre-pay for your service, or you are cancelling within 24-48 hours/no showing your appointment. This card does not have to be the method of payment, you may pay via any of the methods listed below.

Payment methods accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Amex, Contact-less Pay (Apple Pay, and Tap to Pay cards), Venmo, Cash-App & Cash.

No refunds will be given due to nature of services, products and time used.
